WCAG 2.2 accessibility audit
Our WCAG 2.2 accessibility audit provides a thorough assessment of your digital platform's accessibility standards. This evaluation encompasses both websites and mobile applications, utilizing the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Understanding WCAG standards
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines represent the gold standard in digital accessibility. These scientific, evidence-based guidelines comprise 55 success criteria under WCAG 2.2 AA, designed to create an internet that's accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Our evaluation meticulously examines your digital presence against each of these criteria to ensure comprehensive compliance and optimal user experience.
How a complete WCAG audit proceeds
1. Choose a suitable date
Together with our planner, you'll select a convenient date for conducting the audit(s). We'll also schedule the advisory meeting and the complimentary re-audit.
2. The audit scope
Based on the WCAG-EM methodology, we'll determine a sample of approximately 20 pages, focusing on special pages such as forms, videos, images, and tables. This method is developed by W3C.
3. Start audit
Our auditor will begin the manual inspection based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA), which comply with the legal requirements of the Digital Government Act and the European Accessibility Act.
4. Download the report
Within three weeks, your audit report will be available in the focusring.io dashboard.
5. Advisory meeting
How do you proceed with the findings? During this online advisory meeting, you can ask our auditor all your questions. Together, you'll discuss solutions for success criteria that are not (yet) met.
6. Re-Audit
After 2 months, a re-audit will be conducted to assess the extent to which the website or app has become more digitally accessible since the initial audit!

WCAG as foundation
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) form the foundation of all the research we do. Think of these international guidelines as a handbook for creating a digitally accessible environment.
The four principles of WCAG
WCAG is based on four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. These principles form the basis for all our accessibility research.
